Lancaster Farm Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit farm animal sanctuary.
Our mission is rescuing farmed animals and providing them sanctuary; inspiring humans to live with compassion and respect. By connecting with individuals, educating the general public, and collaborating with organizations, LFS works to improve the lives of community members, human and nonhuman alike. LFS’s core values are: Justice, Integrity, Compassion, Responsibility, and Courage.
Margot, along with her adult son Graham, was rescued from a tragic hoarding case where she was being starved and neglected. Margot was pregnant with twins when we rescued her, and her babies were born healthy under special care in the hospital! Now Margot, Graham, and the twins (Peter and Polly) all get to live together in safety for the rest of their lives.
Claire was born on a local beef farm with half of her face paralyzed. Because of this she could not blink, and had a large painful ulcer on her eyeball, as well as pneumonia. Claire required long term hospitalization and two eye surgeries, but we managed to save her vision! Claire is strong now and her best friend is Jude!
Baby Jude was born at a local dairy with a birth defect in his mouth that made him unwanted. When we rescued him, Jude had four major infectious diseases and required months of hospitalization, but eventually he was able to make a full recovery. Jude is the most famous of all the residents at the sanctuary!
Lilith was seized by authorities from a horrific abuse case at a local so-called "horse rescue." When she came to us she was nearly dead from starvation, but with proper medical care, love and patience, she is now fully recovered! Despite all of her trauma, she is now one of the most self-assured of all our residents!
Pumpkin was rescued from a local puppy mill where she was being used to breed "pet pigs." She was horribly neglected and required surgery and hospitalization. Despite her very low odds of survival, Pumpkin is now big and strong! We call her The Queen of the sanctuary!
Ramona was spared from being killed at a factory farm because she was deemed a "runt." When she came to us she had a foot infection and was very tiny, but also just perfect! Luckily she overcame it all and has grown to be a big healthy lady and best friends with another pig here named Howie.
Shelby was found as a tiny piglet along the roadside very near a live auction house. She most likely fell off the transport truck taking her to auction when she was just days old. Thankfully, Shelby made it to the sanctuary. She is now a big healthy lady! She loves apples, belly rubs, and splashing in the mud!
Tammy was one of our first ever rescues! She was found in rural PA and likely escaped a local farm where she was being raised for Thanksgiving dinner. Tammy is an opinionated and sassy lady! She likes to be petted (but only when she feels like it!). Her best friend is another turkey named Griselda!
