Will You Rehome My Chicken or Rooster?
Every year we are absolutely inundated with requests to take in unwanted roosters and it is impossible to accommodate those requests. We literally get hundreds of requests every spring/summer. If you buy chicks there will likely be a rooster even if the seller claims they are hens. Backyard flocks are exploitative and harmful to birds and they also result in countless unwanted roosters. No amount of sanctuaries could accommodate them all. Please do not participate in backyard flocks. And if you contact us about roosters please understand it is likely we will not respond due to the number of messages we receive every year.
